YARD-O-LED Introduces the Grand Martelé Fountain Pen
YARD-O-LED is proud to announce the launch of the Grand Martelé Fountain Pen, a new addition to its collection and a significant evolution of the iconic Grand model.
Defined by its distinctive hand-hammered (martelé) finish, the Grand Martelé celebrates the artistry and heritage of traditional silver craftsmanship. Each sterling silver cap and barrel is individually worked by hand over many hours with a planishing hammer , creating a unique surface that reflects light with subtle variation and depth, ensuring no two pens are exactly alike.
Produced in limited annual quantities, the Grand Martelé reinforces YARD-O-LED’s commitment to low-volume manufacture and enduring quality. The design combines finely crafted sterling silver with beautifully finished brass components and the signature YARD-O-LED clip, resulting in a piece that is both tactile and visually striking.
Marking an important milestone for the brand, the Grand Martelé is also the first ever Grand model to feature a screw cap, introducing a new level of functionality while maintaining the timeless character of the original design. Every clip is individually numbered and the barrel has the silver hallmark showing it was made with 925 Silver.
As with all YARD-O-LED writing instruments, the Grand Martelé is crafted in Birmingham using traditional hand crafted techniques, representing a continuation of the company’s dedication to authentic British manufacture and excellence in silverwork.
The Grand Martelé Fountain Pen stands as a refined expression of craftsmanship, innovation, and material integrity, a modern evolution of a classic form.
Available as a fountain pen or rollerball

I’ve been using my Grand Martelé for a few months now, and absolutely love the way it presents itself. With the cap on, it looks well battered (as intended) and yet somehow also stately, particularly when it glistens in the light. When the cap is unscrewed, a refined front end and nib are revealed, and what a delightful contrast?! The newly placed threading accentuates an already elegant-looking collar, which separates the smooth compound curves of the front end from a gorgeous nib. The writing experience is also distinctive – a lovely glide across the page with only the tiniest amount of feedback. Well done Yard 0 Led!
